CELLO - Mariano García :: Faculty :: esim

A versatile musician, Mariano García has the ability to sound different in each work he performs, taking care of the particularities of each score but without losing his own personality.

Mariano García has developed his career in a triple facet: as a soloist, as a chamber musician and in an orchestra, enriching himself from each of these experiences.

He has given concerts in the main cities of Spain, France and Italy, performing in venues such as the National Auditorium of Madrid, the Palau de la Música in Valencia or the Zaragoza Auditorium, he has worked with directors such as Zubin Mehta, Juanjo Mena, Pinchas Steinberg or Fabio Biondi, and has participated in festivals such as the Soriano Musical Autumn, the Cagnes-sur-Mer International Festival or the Deià International Music Festival.

As a soloist he has performed the main works written for cello and orchestra, from Haydn's Concerto No. 1 to Beethoven's Triple, through the concertos of Schumann, Saint-Saëns or Dvorak or Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations.

Passionate about chamber music, he was a founding member of the Mendelssohn Trio, with which he obtained the National Chamber Music Award from Juventudes Musicales de España and is currently a member of the Rebek Trio, which performs regularly with a collection of Stradivarius on loan from the prestigious Parisian luthier Claude Lebet.

He has recorded for the EMI label the entire music for solo cello and cello with piano by Joaquín Rodrigo.

Trained with teachers such as Lluís Claret and Asier Polo, he completed his musical studies at the Valencia Conservatory of Music, obtaining the highest grades in cello and chamber music. He has received advice from artists such as Mirolslav Rostropovich, Charles Tunell and Stefan Popov.

He currently combines his activity in recitals and as a soloist with an orchestra with his work as a soloist teacher of the Valencia Orchestra and with chamber music projects
