JAVIER GUNA

He has been a soloist of the Gran Teatro del Liceo of Barcelona and the Chamber Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, and he also collaborates with different orchestras in Spain: National Orchestra of Catalonia, Castilla la Mancha Symphony Orchestra, Valencia Symphony Orchestra, Cambra Orchestra of the Valencian Community among others. Currently he is a member of the Harmonie Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra of the Valencian Community and the Belles Arts Symphony Orchestra.

Senior Professor of Music and Performing Arts at the Generalitat Valenciana, he works as an oboe teacher and Head of the Woodwind Department at the Conservatori Professional de Música de Catarroja, Valencia. He has extensive experience of 30 years as a regular oboe teacher, having carried out and organized a large number of courses, publications, masterclasses, exhibitions and conferences.

He unanimously obtained the End of Degree and End of Higher Degree Honor Awards at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia. He expanded his oboe studies with Professor Lhotar Koch in different courses in Spain, Germany and Austria (Hochschule Mozarteum of Salzburg), being in 1996 selected to participate as a soloist in “Internationalen Orchesterinstituts Attergau” in Austria sponsored by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

He collaborates with different early music groups with the Renaissance Chirimia and the Baroque Oboe, recording with the latter a CD of music by Rousseau. As a modern oboe player he recorded a comprehensive set of contemporary music by composer Lars Graugaard with the Grup Instrumental de Valencia. He is part of the Träumerei Trio (piano, soprano and oboe/English horn)

Member of the board of AFOES (Association of Bassoonists and Oboists of Spain) and responsible for the Blog of the Spanish Repertoire for Bassoon and Oboe.
